But should you wish to adventure further, the nearest beach is just 700 metres away and there are masses of historical and cultural sights to see in the local area.

• Take your pick: There’s a choice of six restaurants as well as four bars – something for everyone and every taste. It’s all-inclusive bliss here, from the open buffet in the main restaurant, to traditional Ottoman cuisine in Istanbul a la carte, Italian delicacies in Felici, snacks and light bites at Food Stop and sumptuous pastries at the Mr Baker patisserie and bakery. Grab a refreshing cocktail from the pool bar when you’re overheating and, if you’re feeling lively, head to the resort’s very own disco that offers mesmerising shows and music after dark.

• Relax in style: The designers of Vox Maris Resort had the right idea when they created the resort’s swimming pools: the bigger the better! The large outdoor freshwater pool is surrounded by loungers so you can chill out in comfort, and there’s also a smaller pool with a water slide and an indoor pool too. If that’s not relaxing enough, head to the wellness area and make the most of the sauna, steam bath and (of course) Turkish hammam. Treatments and massages are also available for an extra charge.
