Dorfstadl, Dorf 452, 6555 Kappl, Austria

Up at an elevation of 2020m, Kappl is an alpine wonderland. Come rain or snow or shine, activities abound here, and in winter skiing is most certainly the name of the game. There are 80km of slopes in the Kappl / Ischgl area, as well as a freestyle park with halfpipes and rails for the brave among visitors. Toboggan riding can also be on the agenda, as well as snowshoe hikes through the powdery wilderness.

In summer, there are pastures aplenty for emerald-hued hikes packed with glistening mountain lakes and blossoming alpine roses. You’ll also find plenty of bike trails, and if you fancy exploring charming Innsbruck, it’s only an hour and a half away by car.
