  • Elegant inside and out: Thanks to esteemed Spanish interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán who has a serious knack for hotel styling, this city-central bolthole has became one of Lisbon’s chicest addresses. Set in a charmingly renovated historical building, it’s blessed with good looks, a top-notch service, and smart mix of 18th-century architecture and glamorous modern décor.

  • Home from home: On the accommodation front, you'll find comfortable rooms - all of which come with gleaming white walls, blue accents, sophisticated furnishings and high-tech gadgetry which, combined with gorgeously tiled bathrooms, makes for the perfect base that you’ll be happy to return to after a day of sightseeing.

  • Wine and dine: The flagship à la carte restaurant Azul e Branco serves excellent Portuguese, Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine. Equally impressive is the relaxed Equestre Bar for coffee and cocktails, and the 10th-floor Limão Rooftop Bar for end-of-day drinks and incredible views of the Portuguese capital.

You’ll be staying right in the heat of Lisbon - the Portuguese capital most celebrated for its Gothic glamour, maritime charm, and cosmopolitan vibe. Must-dos include climbing to the ancient Castle of São Jorge, taking the wrought-iron Santa Justa lift for incredible skyline views, spending time in the village-like neighbourhood of Alfama, and people-watching in Terreiro do Paço - the city’s largest and most famous square.

Further not-to-be-missed thrills include shopping in the elegant Chiado district, gorging on modern masterpieces by Picasso, Miró, Warhol and Dalí at the impressive Berardo Museum, and getting to grips with the city streets by hopping aboard one of the supercool yellow trams that have been operating here since 1873.
