Bed down at a striking adults-only South Tyrol mountain hotel, including breakfast, dinner, spa access and plenty of thoughtful perks
  • Timeless alpine elegance: Immersed in the natural beauty of the South Tyrol's Venosta Valley, the adults-only Hotel Weisses Kreuz truly spans the centuries, combining three unique buildings: one dating back to the 13th century, one built in 1871, and a more recently-built, futuristic addition. Design-led interiors use natural materials like stone and wood to create an old-meets-new, minimalist-chic haven, while endless mountain views and the idyllic village of Burgusio are at your fingertips.

  • Foodie delights: Culinary journeys away at the hotel's gorgeous restaurant, where a varied menu of Alpine, Mediterranean and international dishes sees hearty local eats and homemade pasta brush shoulders with innovative eats and far-flung flavours. Wash it all down with a glass of wine from the hotel's enviable cellar, where sommelier-led tastings are a regular offering. The patisserie also provides ample opportunity to indulge in lovingly crafted strudels, cakes, and more.

  • Total harmony: The sumptuous Aura mea spa is an ode to the elements, with sleek spaces and state-of-the-art facilities designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The indoor-outdoor infinity pool is perfect for scenic swims, while a range of saunas will ensure you blow off steam in style. Unwind in the panoramic relaxation room, restore your inner balance with a spot of yoga and meditation, or work up a sweat at the airy Technogym fitness centre.

Burgusio, 82, 39024 Burgusio BZ, Italy

With a stay at Hotel Weisses Kreuz, the stars of the show are the snowy peaks all around, which will captivate you at every turn – whether you're enjoying the views from the comfort of your accommodation, or slicing through the snow on your skis.

The hotel is located in the medieval village of Burgeis, home to a babbling fountain and the imposing Benedictine Marienberg monastery. In the vicinity you can climb to the top of Piz Lad mountain at 2,800 metres, from where you can see almost the entire Venosta Valley and across to Switzerland. Just a 10-minute drive from the hotel is the small ski resort of Watles, the sunniest in the whole of South Tyrol. The wider Venosta Valley offers five ski areas, with 36 lifts and 150 kilometres of slopes.
