Location and what's nearby

Via Flavio Gioia, 2, 55049 Viareggio LU, Italy

The beautiful city of Viareggio is one of northern Tuscany’s real gems, with a charmingly friendly local population. While you're here, spend your days endlessly topping up your tan on the nearby beach, hire a bike for a great way to see the city, or take a drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany, peppered with vineyards and little villages.

Further up the coast lies Italy's first (and smallest) national park, Cinque Terre. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is well worth a visit and comprises five, pastel-painted, cliff-clinging towns that are linked by an almost 12-mile-long lacework of walking trails. Pisa with its iconic leaning tower and Florence also make viable day trips.
