How to get there

The hotel sits on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, about four and a half hours from London by car, and fours hours by train depending on train times. You're also just 50 minutes north of Plymouth by car.

You’ll be staying on the north-western fringe of Dartmoor National Park – Devon’s award-winning moorland characterised by forests, rivers, wetlands, and distinctive granite tors (rock formations). After exploring the 22-mile stretch of coastline made up of postcard-pretty villages, walking trails, rocky coves and seaside resorts, relax in the rose garden at 14th-century Compton Castle, take the Jungle Express train at Paignton Zoo, meet Benedictine monks at Buckfast Abbey, and hop aboard the Kingswear Ferry to hit the Blue Flag-awarded Blackpool Sands beach.

Also factor in a visit to Lydford Gorge – the deepest gorge in the South West that has a spectacular 30-metre-high waterfall as well as wonderful woodland walks that assure dramatic views. Lewtrenchard Manor is a 20-minute drive from the Dartmoor towns of Tavistock and Okehampton. The nearest train station is Gunnislake, around 11 miles away.
