Escape to the Austrian Alps and marvel at breathtaking views afforded from a family-run hotel with spa - includes breakfast, dinner, welcome drink and more
  • Wonderful Salzach valley views: Perched on a hillside and commanding scene-stealing panoramic views, Hotel AlpenSchlössl is a grand, castle-like retreat. With contemporary interiors that echo the traditional Alpine style of a ski lodge or chalet, this hideaway is at once stylish yet homely, befitting a summer escape amid nature.

  • Gourmet mountain fare: You’ll be working up an appetite each day in the mountains, and the offerings here won’t disappoint: the emphasis is on fresh, organic gourmet dishes, from the generous buffet spread down to the five-course set menu each evening. Ingredients are sourced from the host's organic farm, where possible. Elsewhere, you’ll find a salad bar and a sumptuous cheese corner featuring regional specialties (don’t forget to pair up with a bottle of wine).

  • Feel-good spa moments: As if the feel-good effects of being surrounded by nature weren’t enough, AlpenSchlössl is home to a beauty and wellness area that will leave you prim and pampered. You’ll have a large selection of massages and packages to choose from, as well as a sauna area and relaxation room. Outdoors, the natural swimming pond awaits, a crystal-clear outdoor pool sunk in beautifully landscaped nature with views across the mountains.

Alpendorf 3a, 5600 St. Johann im Pongau, Austria

AlpenSchlössl is located right in the heart of Alpendorf, at the cusp of Großarltal which means ‘valley of the mountain huts’. As you’d imagine, the scenery here is breathtaking: the mountainous landscape unfolds before you, sprinkled with diverse flora and fauna which brings the views to life. The area is home to over 400 kilometres of marked hiking trails, and the hotel offers a complimentary hiking service package in the summer months, which includes daily supervised hikes, hiring of equipment, mountain snacks and, of course, expert knowledge. Mountain bikers can seize the day and try out the Tauern biking route, which comes in at over 180 kilometres over various terrain.
