Historic Borkum hotel with Wilhelminian splendour

Seehotel Borkum, North Sea Spa Borkum, Lower Saxony, Germany

Property details

  • Glamorous history: Built at the turn of the century, today's Seehotel Borkum was already considered an exclusive retreat in a privileged location at the time of its opening. A few steps from Borkum's coast, the modernised Wilhelminian-style house still impresses with its opulent façade and elegant salons. Offering views of either the island landscape or the picturesque town centre with the New Lighthouse, each hotel room is a haven of stylish cosiness.

  • Borkum living: Enjoy a rich selection of food in the historic restaurant ambience of Seehotel Borkum, before heading out into the wonderfully fresh North Sea air. Take a deep breath, caress your soul and clear your head completely, whether it's on a relaxing walk along the beach, a mudflat hike or a more sporty bike ride, a horseback ride along the dune coast, or kitesurfing.

  • Highlights on your doorstep: At Seehotel Borkum, you're not only right next to the promenade and just over 150 metres from the island's main beach, but you can also quickly reach Gezeitenland – an 8,000 square metre water and wellness world. You also have an ideal starting point for the many events on Borkum: from the wine festival in spring to the beach days in summer and the colourful Borkum Light Week in autumn.

How to get there

The hotel is approximately seven kilometres from Borkum's harbour. The best way to reach the island is via ferry connections from Emden. The Borkumer Kleinbahn runs from the harbour, from whose terminus it is only about a five-minute walk to the hotel. Alternatively, the distance from Borkum Airport to your accommodation is around four kilometres.
