Historic hotel in Germany’s unspoilt Sauerland

• Centuries old: Hotel Stormann has been welcoming guests to its charming setting in the town of Schmallenburg for over 250 years - it’s packed full of history and used to be a royal Prussian coaching inn. The hotel was run by eight generations of the Stormann family before being taken over and fully renovated, while keeping many of its original features like the striking cast iron sign that announces the hotel.
  
  
• Diverse dining: The Restaurant Stormann is renowned locally for serving a varied menu of seasonal and local dishes, with chef Alexander Greve whipping up classic German dishes like Flammkuchen and freshly prepared trout. The restaurant is situated within the former Post Office part of the building, and guests can sit and enjoy the charming atmosphere from beside the fireplace or overlooking the gardens.
  
  
• Total comfort: Refurbished bedrooms are located within the main building or a newer annexe, and feature comfortable beds, modern bathrooms and cosy features. Some have balconies overlooking the garden and surrounding area, and all are spacious and bright.
