Inviting Tuscany hilltop spa hotel

Villa San Paolo Resort & Spa, San Gimignano, Italy

Time-limited

Property details

  • Incredible views: Perched on a hill outside the town of San Gimignano, Villa San Paolo has a privileged view of the famous Tuscan town of towers. Relax amongst the olive trees (which make the resort’s own olive oil), take a dip in the pool and return to modern, well equipped bedrooms – all the while enjoying stunning views over the surrounding countryside and vineyards.

  • Relax to the max: A highlight of the hotel is its spa, nestled amid the olive grove, with more than 1,000 square metres of space comprising heated indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, water circuit, ice fountain, hammam and treatments including beauty therapies, massages and wraps. Both the pools are lined with terraces and loungers, so after your swim you can lie back and relax with a good book.

  • Flavours of Tuscany: The hotel’s l’Oliva bistro is truly Tuscan, offering informal meals with local flavours. For a more refined dining experience, Lampolla offers candlelit fine dining accompanied by excellent wines and far-reaching views. In the mornings, the breakfast area caters for all desires with locally sourced bread, pecorino cheese from Pienza, salami from the Crete Senese and homemade cake and olive oil – you can’t get more local than that.

How to get there

The nearest airports are in Pisa or Florence and both are about one hour’s drive away. There is a train station 25 minutes away in the town of Poggibonsi, and from there you can take a taxi the rest of the way to the hotel. If you’re hiring a car, the A1 autostrada is about 40 minutes’ drive.
