• Staggering scenery: Boasting a sublime position among the rolling pastures of Austria's Southern Styria region, LOISIUM Wine & Spa Resort Südsteiermark is a designer hideaway where breathtaking scenery is only half of the story. The magic continues inside too, with the hotel's sleek, beautifully-appointed interiors featuring floor-to-ceiling windows so you can gaze out at the vineyards and stretching countryside beyond.

• Holistic wellness: Along with a stellar vineyard-facing pool, the palatial Spa Club by Saint Charles is something to behold. Covering a sprawling 1,400 square metres set across multiple floors, you'll find all your favourite staples like saunas and a saltwater steam bath, plus a range of indulgent massages and treatments with which to pamper yourself further (fees apply).

• Wine and dine: Savour the region's fresh flavours and produce over panoramic views at the glass-fronted Restaurant Weinkuchl, which also boasts a lovely panoramic terrace for al fresco dining in warm weather. Elsewhere, the laid-back Wine Bar & Lounge is the perfect place to linger by the fireside with a glass of local wine, while the Grape Lounge & Terrace and pool bar are on-hand to refuel between spa treatments and refreshing dips.
