Location and what's nearby

Weinstraße 12, 67146 Deidesheim, Germany

Known primarily as one of the most charming villages along the German Wine Route, Deidesheim is a haven for oenophiles. The town - which comes alive in summer, with most of the hubbub centring around its picturesque Marktplatz - is home to 10 winemakers, so there are tastings aplenty available to all. Von Winning winery is among the best in the town with rave reviews on Tripadvisor, so be sure to check it out.

As you stroll around the marketplace, take the time to admire the 16th-century town hall, which houses the three-story Museum für Weinkultur, which (you guessed it) lets you take a trip down wine-making memory lane. Of course, it’s not all about the grape: outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the slower pace of life here, and there are plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities in the surrounding area, with the vineyards making an idyllic backdrop to your adventures.
