The hotel is located in the town of Carlow in County Carlow. The train station is a 10-minute walk away. Dublin Airport is roughly an hour and 20 minutes to two hours away by car. If you’re arriving by car, you’ll find the hotel a few minutes off the N80.

Please note that the opening hours of the leisure centre are 10.30am to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 6.30pm everyday.

County Carlow is home to some of Ireland’s most famous national walking routes, which wind through the countryside along riverside towpaths and across the Blackstairs Mountains to the south. Lace up your hiking boots and wander along the River Barrow, following the centuries-old Barrow Way past old stone bridges and pretty lock houses, or challenge yourself with a trek up Mount Leinster.
 
History buffs will be happy here, with megalithic monuments, castles and great houses aplenty making perfect stops on your rambles. Flit through history with visits to the Brownhill Dolmen (a megalithic portal tomb from between 4000 and 3000 BC), the ruins of 13th-century Ballymoon Castle, and impressive Duckett’s Grove, built around 1745. You’ll also find several museums in town, including the Carlow County Museum and the County Carlow Military Museum.
